Information for All Students

Vaccines and Clinical Training

The University of Washington requires all faculty, staff and students to be vaccinated and attest to their vaccination status. You can find the attestation form HERE

An increasing number of clinical training sites throughout WWAMI are also requiring verification that students are fully vaccinated (two weeks or more since last vaccine dose) before students can begin seeing patients – either for clinical rotations or for the Primary Care Practicum (PCP)/College mornings. If you are not vaccinated, you may not be able to participate in your clerkship or PCP/College mornings depending on the requirements of the clinical training site. If you are not vaccinated and are concerned about your clinical training opportunities, please contact Dr. Tolbert (adminsa@uw.edu). We strongly encourage you to get vaccinated.

Please note: due to increasing Delta variant cases, changes may be happening in hospitals and clinics, such as cancellation of all elective procedures. If you have any concerns about changes happening during your rotations, please reach out to your clerkship director.

For more information about COVID protocols during clinical training, view the UW School of Medicine Plan for Medical Student Clinical Activities during COVID-19 Pandemic

UWSOM Accreditation Status

In response to student requests for more information about UWSOM’s accreditation status, we developed a new accreditation website. Throughout 2021, the accreditation website will be updated on a monthly basis to provide an executive summary of each of the twelve accreditation standards and UWSOM’s compliance with those standards. Standard 8 on Curricular Management, Evaluation, and Enhancement is now available.

Financial Aid Update

Things to do:
  • New Borrowers (primarily MS1s) ensure that you have completed your federal entrance counseling
  • Accept your aid for 21-22 if you haven’t already. If your aid was cancelled, email somfao@uw.edu and we can reinstate it.
  • In MyUW update your current address and set up direct deposit under “Financial Aid Status”.

Website Updates:
  • Timeline: Updated general 2021-22 timeline and new MS1-MS4 timelines include dates for aid disbursement.
  • Cost of Attendance: Updated for 2021-22 by Foundations site.

Academic Support Group Tutoring Starts 9/7!

There is great benefit in group learning and finding support from your fellow classmates! Group tutoring is now offered several days a week and led by senior students. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity and perhaps even find a new study partner as well.
