Information for All Students

UWSOM Accreditation Status

In response to student requests for more information about UWSOM’s accreditation status, we developed a new accreditation website. Throughout 2021, the accreditation website will be updated on a monthly basis to provide an executive summary of each of the twelve accreditation standards and UWSOM’s compliance with those standards. Standard 6 on Competencies, Curricular Objectives, and Curricular Design is now available.

We encourage you to take a look and learn more about accreditation at allopathic schools of medicine.

UWSOM SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS DUE in 1 WEEK (JUNE 30)

The UWSOM Scholarship Application is now open for the 2021-22 academic year. Applications are due on June 30. Visit the “Scholarships” webpage for detailed information and the application link.

Register for the July AAMC FIRST Friday Webinar
During this webinar, one of the creators of the AAMC MedLoans Organizer and Calculator (MLOC), Jay Youngclaus, and Damien Jackson, the Assistant Dean for the Office of Student Finance at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, will present information intended to enhance a borrower’s understanding of their repayment actions and “what if” situations.

UWSOM Student Intranet Feedback

The UWSOM Communications team needs your feedback during the review and restructuring process of the UWSOM Student Intranet site. Our goal is to restructure the Intranet website to make it navigable, relevant, and organized to best meet your needs.

Please fill out this form if you are interested in joining our Intranet working group to help provide valuable feedback throughout the process of the Intranet restructure. More details will be sent to interested participants. The form will remain open through Friday, July 9.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Communications team at uwsomcom@uw.edu

Listserv Rollover Reminder

The medical student email listservs will rollover the week of 7/12 – 7/16. For example, this means that medyr2ad will be reaching this fall's second year (E20) students. Please continue to send messages to your current listservs until the rollover is complete.

We will automatically subscribe students to the listserv pertaining to the class in which they will be enrolled in the 2021-22 academic year.

Students are required to be on the listserv that belongs to their class. AUX list membership is optional (Please note: the AUX listservs are the only way to receive Student Interest Groups and Service Learning emails).

MD/PhD students currently working on their PhD will be left on medyr3ad (technically they are in their third year the whole time they are in graduate school). If you are doing your PhD and you happen to be on medyr3ad and want to be removed, let us know after the lists rollover and we will take you off that list.

If you want to be on more than one listserv (usually due to expansion) let us know after the listservs rollover and we can add you to the appropriate listserv.

Please contact us at medlistserv@uw.edu if you have any questions.
