Financial Aid Announcements
- Awards for 2021-22: All students will receive their 2021-22 award notices this week if they haven’t already. SOM Financial Aid is in the process of fixing budgets – when you view your award, it may be too high if you are an AK, ID, MT, or WY student. The main campus system does not take into account in-state tuition for regional Foundations sites, so we have to manually change each student’s award. There is no need to contact our office if your award is too high. You can accept your award on MyUW before the budget is fixed.
- Summer Aid: If you applied for summer aid, it should be visible on MyUW under the “2021-22 academic year”. Please verify that you are registered for your summer courses and accept your summer award this week. If you do not see your summer award, make sure you are viewing the correct academic year. You can change academic years by clicking the radio buttons on the top left of the screen. If you still cannot see your summer award and you verified you’re on the 2021-22 academic year, do not accept your Fall/Winter/Spring award and respond to this email.
- Holds: We are still reviewing the additional documents requested by the main financial aid office. If you have not yet submitted requested documents, do so ASAP. Your summer aid will not be released until the documents are submitted and reviewed. Any requests for additional documentation will be visible in your Messages on MyUW.
- Summer Aid Disbursement: If you have accepted your awards, resolved all holds, are registered, and your clerkship starts on June 28, your aid will be released by June 25, 2021.

White Coat Investor Medical School Scholarship
- Applications open June 1 – August 31, 2021
- Scholarship is split between 10 students, total fund amount for 2021 is still to be determined
- In 2020, recipients received ~$7,000
- Requirements:
- Enrolled full-time for 2021-22 academic year and be in good academic standing
- Submit an 800-1200 word essay on one of two topics. Visit their webpage for more information.

Seattle Students
UW Seattle, South Campus Center (SCC) Closure Between Quarters
To maximize limited resources and to ensure the continued safety of our staff, school partners and building occupants, the South Campus Center will be closed between the end of Spring Quarter (June 11) and the start of Summer Quarter (June 21). The SCC closure will start on Friday, June 11 at 5 p.m. PDT and reopen on Monday, June 21 at 8 a.m. PDT. Please contact Steve Berard ( sberard@uw.edu), if you have any questions or concerns.
Summer Quarter U-Pass
If you would like to purchase a U-Pass for use July 1-September 30, 2021, follow these steps:
- Starting July 1, log into the Transportation Services online customer portal
- Click “Get Permits”
- Select the “U-PASS / Quarterly” option from the list of available products (listed alphabetically)
- Continue through the purchasing process to finalize the purchase of your opt-in student U-PASS
